How to verify if MFA is enabled for an AWS Account?
Sign in to the AWS Management Console with your root user (or) with your credentials and then open the “IAM console” at https://console.aws.amazon.com/iam/ (or)
In the navigation bar on the upper right, choose your username, and then choose Security credentials.
Navigate to check MFA Enable
3. If MFA has not been activated, an ⚠️ symbol is displayed under the Security Credentials dashboard. Which Indicates that our account is not secured and AWS recommends enabling it.
🥳 conclusion
We have verified the root account and noticed that MFA is not enabled. but we need to secure our root account as it doesn’t have any restrictions on accessing the resources within AWS. So let’s learn how to enable protection and the importance of 2FA in the next blog.
